Tommy Bahama Rumologist – I Need Your Vote (Daily)
Categories: Cocktails
Just imagine the stories I will be able to share with you after this one!
Oh the sweet taste of rum, and now the sweet taste of rum victory.
Last night I was named a Top-20 finalist to represent Tommy Bahama as their first ever Rumologist. Sounds like a dream job doesn’t it? I agree that’s why I applied. All of my effort however is for naught with out your help and vote.

A few weeks ago I found out about Tommy Bahama’s search and I knew I had to apply. Brainstorming for over a week on what my one minute video would say was the toughest. How do you tell people why you should get the job and not sound egotistical?
I settled on the theme, “If Tommy Were Alive.” The company says that they turn to the fictional character and persona of Tommy Bahama to inform them on their design and corporate culture. In turn I thought the perfect Rumologist would not only have to be able to make great rum drinks (a given), not only know rum (a given) and not only been to the Caribbean to see rum made at the source (a given). But the perfect Rumologist himself should personify Tommy the character not just pretend to be him.
Such was the inspiration for my video submission.
How can you help? I’m asking for your vote. I need your vote. Those of you who read Coastlines & Tan Lines already have a solid sense of my commitment to the island and rum lifestyle. Who could be a better choice? If you help me win you’ll get to read about all my bigger adventures drinking rum for Tommy Bahama all over the world. Don’t worry, I’ll still be true to all the other island fun that you expect from me as well.

Cheers Sandra. I hear rum is good for infected legs! LOL.
You go my vote man. Cheers!
GOT my vote. I hate when my brain moves faster than my fingers. Side effect of being awesome. Cheers!
You’re too freaking funny dude.
“Splice the Mainbrace, Mate!
You can say that again Bobby. The funny thing is that Peter who was in the second take and I were just doing an interview 65 feet up the main mast of s/v Coral. A 1902 all wooden schooner. (www.carlgrooms.com) if you want to see a picture. So splicing the mainbrace is a fitting comment. Cheers.
I just discovered your blog last week and love it. I’m voting every day. Good luck!
Thank you Wendy! When I get this job, the stories will get even better!
