My Favorite Spot in the Florida Keys
Categories: Islands
This 99 year old bridge is living art shaped by time, sea, salt and sun.
The Bahia Honda Bridge, specifically the approach from Spanish Harbor Key, on the ocean side, is my favorite spot in the Keys. The view of the bridge is spectacular, the vast expanse of sea to my right calming. The entire scene is perfectly framed by a palm tree in the foreground. If Ansel Adams were a rum drinking, bikini loving misfit like myself, he would have photographed this place.
This is my spot. At least in my mind it is. I have almost never seen people down at water’s edge when I’m there. With great hesitation, I share this with you. DO NOT ruin it please. Enjoy a cold beer, toast me for my good eye for beautiful settings and be on your way.

Excellent and unique choice!
I have stood exactly where this photo was taken and I agree wholeheartedly! Awesome choice! Fits me like a glove.
Awesome to hear. It’s such a great spot and so easy to miss. Cheers and thanks for the comment Princess
