What I took from the Kenny Chesney Show
This morning’s song isn’t the upbeat tunes we are used to having but I thought that this video reflected something I wanted to convey. On Saturday I saw Kenny Chesney play for the first time. I have seen a lot of concerts and different performers in my days but one thing about this show, and more importantly Kenny himself, was his genuine love for the music and his appreciation for his fans. By no means am I a “fan boy” of anyone but as a true lover of music and one who appreciates something real, not just a rouse for making money, I feel that giving respect where it is due is important.
Through real acts of emotion on stage, his energy, and interaction with the fans one can tell that he is for real, that it’s about the music and the fans and not just the paycheck. I remained at my seat until the lights came back on and was blown away at how much time he takes to sign items from audience members, pulling a little girl up on stage to give her a Bucs Helmet, or an older lady a guitar that he just signed on stage. His music and lifestyle means a lot to me, but even if this wasn’t the case these acts alone would have gained him my respect as an artist, a performer, and as a person. This video reflects just what I saw in his performance so I feel I had to share.
So though he’ll likely never read this, to you Kenny I say cheers and thank you.
