This is how it’s done!

Well I know we’ve had a lull in our postings, but make sure to stay tuned as there will be much more to come as we rev back up and head into summer! And what better way than to post about a great party!

Though June 20th is the official first day of summer, we here in Florida tend to start a bit early; and what better way than at a huge party with lots of new and old friends! On June 2nd party goers from all over descended upon Tampa Florida and took over the parking lot of the Raymond James Stadium. The night belonged to the artist; but until they took the stage, tens of thousands of rum soaked, sun drenched fans owned the party outside!

This was my first Kenny Chesney tailgate and I can say that the only other party that rivals these fans are the Parrottheads at a Jimmy Buffett Tailgate; and that is saying something! These fans bring all the color, concoctions, and island life that one would expect from a Buffett show and mix it with that dash of cowboy boots, cowboy hats, and sundresses to add that country spice to this rum punch crowd. A friend of mine (name omitted to protect the guilty) who is a true KC fan, but admittedly not a big country fan, certainly enjoyed the cowgirls as he kept repeating that “god I like country shows”. You know who you are!

But of all the parties in the lot that day we had to have the best! Perhaps a little biased here but I’d place a wager on it! With a dream team of Salty Souls like we had on site that day I feel pretty confident we’d take the crown. In one small area we had half of the Coastlines/Conch Republic crew (Carl ye was missed sir), Rum Shop Ryan, Jack and Cynthia, Rusty Smith, and Sue from Missing Miami; as well as the friends we each brought along and an intense crowd surrounding us. Add to that fact that for a time we had Matt from No Shoes Radio hanging out and enjoying a few cocktails and I’d say we stacked the deck pretty well!

Initially the NSR crew hadn’t planned on broadcasting from the Tampa show, but once they saw our party in action they rolled out the golf cart and set up the equipment for a live broadcast! What a great addition to the party with Tambo, John Anthony, Matt, and Jaime all joining in on the fun and letting the world listen in via NSR!! All in all I can’t think of a better way to start the summer! Thanks to all that came out and made the event such a success, and a special thanks to the NSR crew! Welcome to the fishbowl indeed!

And be ready for future tailgates as this dream team of partiers will be uniting again in the future and the party will only get bigger and better!
